By the rivers of Babylon
There we sat down, yee..eah we wept
When we remembered Zion
バビロンの川のほとり / Di tepi sungai Babel
そこで私たちはすわり / disanalah kita duduk sambil menangis
シオンを思い出して泣いた / apabila kita mengingat Sion

When the wicked
Carried us away in captivity
私たちを捕らえ移した者たちが / Sebab disanalah orang-orang yang menawan kita
Requiring from us a song
Now how shall we sing The Lord's song in a strange land
そこで、私たちに歌を求め / meminta kepada kita memperdengarkan lagu
私たちがどうして、異国の地にあって主の歌を歌えようか / bagaimanakah kita menyanyikan nyanyian Tuhan di negeri asing?

Let the words of our mouth and the meditations of our heart
Be acceptable in thy sight here tonight
私たちの口の言葉と心の思いが / Biarlah kata-kata dari mulut kami dan isi hati kami
神様に受け入れますように / berkenan pada Tuhan
